     On 11-14-13, Yonkers Police responded to a private residence located at 82 Pondfield Road West on a report of assault which took place inside of the home. Investigation revealed a 46 year old male had sustained a gunshot wound to his neck and he was transported to a local hospital where he subsequently recovered from his injury.

     The Yonkers Police Department Detective Division and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office commenced an intensive investigation into this shooting which included the recovery of physical evidence and numerous interviews.

     This morning Emily Dearden, a 46 year old female and wife of the victim, surrendered to Detectives at Yonkers Police Headquarters with her attorney. She was charged with Attempted Murder 2nd degree and she will be arraigned in Yonkers Criminal Court today. This investigation is active and ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.      

NOTE: Booking charges are merely accusations, and the suspect(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
