Austin PD (Police Department) Alert HEADLINE: Murder #5 ALERT DESCRIPTION: Case:                          2015-0520112 Date:                           Saturday, February 21, 2015 Time:                          1 a.m. Location:                    7204 Twin Crest Drive                                                                                                              Deceased:                  Ray Anthony Arredondo, Hispanic male, D.O.B. 1-23-89 Narrative: On Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at approximately 1 a.m., North Central patrol officers were dispatched to a nature unknown urgent call at an apartment at 7204 Twin Crest Drive. Upon arrival, they located Ray Anthony Arredondo, Hispanic male, D.O.B. 1-23-89, deceased inside the residence of an apparent gunshot wound. Homicide detectives have been able to piece together that the tenant of the apartment was asleep inside his residence when Arredondo forced his way in. Arredondo pointed a gun at the tenant and demanded that he get on the ground. At this time, the tenant retrieved his handgun and fired. A round struck Arredondo, killing him. An autopsy performed by the Travis County Medical Examiner on Sunday, February 22, 2015 determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound. The manner of death is homicide.  No charges have been filed on the tenant at the present time. This case will be reviewed with the Travis County District Attorney’s Office.
